Educaplay

Educaplay is a website that helps professors create interactive content and multimedia to improve their course materials. A user can create a crossword, matching game, quiz, or puzzle to help students remember information used in the classroom. Educaplay also allows professors to make their created materials public for use by other educators around the world.

Keeping students engaged is one of the major focuses of a professor. Educaplay’s tools allow professors to appeal the varied way in which students learn. This can help individualize a student’s learning and make them more successful in the classroom.

  1. This is not exactly cutting edge use of multimedia, nor is it solid pedagogy, is it? There are problems in interaction design. The activities strike me as mundane. I admit I only looked at the samples.

The truth is – it’s hard to make good compelling multimedia. And it is hard to make interactive learning tools. The problem is always in placing the burden on the faculty member. If the tool is powerful, it will be hard for someone to pick up and use unless they are extremely dedicated (paging Bill Sofer).
