Assessment of student learning can take many forms, including:
- In-class and online discussions
- Peer review
- Plagiarism detection
Technology tools are available in all of these areas to aid faculty in creating effective assessment mechanisms for their courses.
Students must abide by the University’s Academic Integrity Policy. Turnitin, a plagiarism detection web service, is available to all faculty and can aid in determining the originality of students’ work. It is also integrated in Sakai’s Assignments tool.
At the end of each semester, students are asked to fill out Student Instructional Rating Surveys to rate the effectiveness of their professors.
