Prezi

Prezi is a web service that can be used to create dynamic and visually rich presentations. It allows users to design their presentations like large, interactive diagrams with a central idea that branches off into several smaller ideas. What separates a prezi from a traditional slideshow is the visual paradigm, which focuses more on exploring the interrelations of discrete ideas inside of a single larger concept, whereas a powerpoint is more linear.

Prezi can be used in place of PowerPoint or along side, as the formats appeal to different topics. Using multiple formats to explore a topic may improve knowledge retention and open up pathways to understanding that would otherwise be missed. This helps keep students interested in the subject matter and synthesizing information. Prezi is also a great way for students to do presentations. Students may enjoy working with Prezi’s graphical, non-linear format.
