Streaming and Live Video
Our Streaming and Live Video Services encompass the use of different media presentation tools such as YouTube, iTunesU, NJVid, and live different live broadcast services
OIRT manages Rutgers’s official YouTube channel, which hosts event recordings, Faculty & Undergraduate research spotlights, and many other University related Videos.
If you are interested in having your University related video hosted on the Rutgers Youtube page please email Laura Transue for information .
With an access code provided by our office, faculty and staff can upload materials to iTunesU and make them publicly available or keep them private for limited use. Materials posted on iTunesU are directly available through Sakai’s Podcast tool.
OIRT has added streaming service capabilities to Sakai in cooperation with the statewide NJVid initiative. With this service, faculty may post video-based course materials for students to view but not download. In addition to this, the NJVid website also host live event streams.
Broadcast TV services include the New Brunswick RU-tv TV service as well as some channels on RU-iptv which can be viewed by on-campus viewers using computers that are wired directly to the Rutgers Network.
Event planners can target on and off campus audiences just like the University address does both during the event and afterwards.
Faculty and staff interested in pilot testing the NJVid streaming server, placing material on the Rutgers YouTube or iTunesU sites, or extending viewership to on and/or off campus audiences, should send email to OIRT.
