Kicking off class

Date Posted Sep 3, 2013

Getting a class motivated and interacting with the material can take time—especially after a summer away from the classroom. Maryellen Weimer at Faculty Focus has a few suggestions for engaging students right off the bat with activities that will get them thinking about the way they learn. The activities range in how much time and space they require, but they all serve to get students interacting and to give them a better grasp on your teaching style and how you intend to run your class.

Check out Weimer’s articles First Day of Class Activities that Create a Climate for Learning and Five Things to Do on the First Day of Class over at Faculty Focus.
